Mckenzie's soul lies above the ground In that pyramid near Maryland Easyjet is hanging in the air Taking everyone to everywhere................................. See slave ships sailing into port The blood of Africa's on every wall Now there's a layline runs down Mathew Street It's giving energy to all it meets Hey, does this train stop Does this train stop on Merseyside Hey, does this train stop Does this train stop on Merseyside Alan Williams in the Marlboro Arms Giving his story out to everyone Famine boats are anchored in the bay Bringing the poor and deperate..................................... Can't concieve what those children done Guess theres a meaness in the soul of man Yorkshire policemen chat with folded arms While people try and save their fellow fans Hey, does this train stop Does this train stop on Merseyside Whoa Hey, does this train stop Does this train stop on Merseyside Mckenzie's soul lies above the ground In that pyramid near Maryland Easyjet is hanging in the air Taking everyone to everywhere........................................ In Scartaglen there lived a lass And every Sunday after mass She would go and take a glass Before going home by Bearna We won’t go home along the road For fear that you might act the rogue Won’t go home along the road But we’ll go home by Bearna We won’t go home across the fields The big thornins will stick in your heels We won’t go home across the fields But we’ll go home by Bearna We won’t go home around the glen For fear your blood might rise again Won’t go home around the glen But we’ll go home by Bearna We won’t go down the milk boreen The night is bright, we might be seen We won’t go down the milk boreen But we’ll go home by Bearna We won’t go home across the bog For fear we might meet Kearney’s dog We won’t go home across the bog But we’ll go home by Bearna In Scartaglen there lived a lass And every Sunday after mass She would go and take a glass Before going home by Bearna We won’t go home along the road For fear that you might act the rogue Won’t go home along the road But we’ll go home by Bearna

In a mean abode on the Skankill Road Lived a man named William Bloat; He had a wife, the curse of his life, Who continually got on his goat. So one day at dawn, with her nightdress on He cut her bloody throat. With a razor gash he settled her hash Oh never was crime so quick But the drip drip drip on the pillowslip Of her life blood made him sick. And the pool of gore on the bedroom floor Grew clotted and cold and thick. And yet he was glad he had done what he had When she lay there stiff and still But a sudden awe of the angry law Struck his heart with an icy chill. So to finish the fun so well begun He resolved himself to kill. He took the sheet from the wife's coul' feet And twisted it into a rope And he hanged himself from the pantry shelf, 'Twas an easy end, let's hope. In the face of death, with his dieing breath He solemnly cursed the Pope. But the strangest turn to the whole concern Is only just beginning. He went to Hell but his wife got well And she's still alive and sinning. For the razor blade was German made But the sheet was Belfast Linen.

In the village of Kildorey, there lived a maiden fair Her eyes they shone like diamonds, she had long and golden hair And a countryman came riding, up to her father's gate Mounted on a milk white stallion, he came at the stroke of eight Step it out Mary, my fine daughter Step it out Mary, if you can Step it out Mary, my fine daughter Show your legs to the countryman I've come to court your daughter, Mary of the golden hair I have wealth and I have money, I have goods beyond compare I will buy her silks and satin and a gold ring for her hand I'll build for her a mansion, she'll have servants to command Step it out Mary, my fine daughter Step it out Mary, if you can Step it out Mary, my fine daughter Show your legs to the countryman Oh kind sir I love a soldier, I've pledged to him my hand I don't want your wealth nor money, I don't want your goods nor land Mary's father spoke up sharply: "You will do as you are told You'll be married on next Sunday and you'll wear that ring of gold" Step it out Mary, my fine daughter Step it out Mary, if you can Step it out Mary, my fine daughter Show your legs to the countryman In the village of Kildorey, there's a deep stream running by They found Mary there at midnight, she drowned with the soldier boy In the cottage there is music, you can hear the father say: "Step it out Mary my fine daughter, Sunday is your wedding day" Step it out Mary, my fine daughter Step it out Mary, if you can Step it out Mary, my fine daughter Show your legs to the countryman

Catch my breath, hear me call Would you follow me, follow me And if my confidence should fall Look and see My marks there on your back I don’t know I don’t Know Watch your life when it’s coming back And I’m way down low FILL............................................................ Ah you’re just a falling dance A high class witch you got new romance But that’s the way it always should be You call it rock n roll But your purse beats faster than your catholic soul Send me a post card from your tree You paint your friendship on my open door Climb up high so you can see With my defences down I tried so hard to find the anger O if you could see what I could see FILL................................................................... It’s getting round about Well I’m in and then I’m out I hear your wise cracks easily You put me down and down and down Your stories never hit my face They just go blowing round the corner with the breeze You paint your friendship on my open door Climb up high so you can see With my defences down I tried so hard to fight the anger O if you could see what I could see You paint your friendship on my open door You paint your friendship on my open door Oh the chips are down I’ve seen you laugh I’ve seen you frown Well do you ever want for more?

Green grow the rashes, O! Green grow the rashes, O! The sweetest hours that e'er I spend, Are spent amang the lasses, O! There's nought but care on every han' In every hour that passes, O; What signifies the life o' man, An 'twere na for the lasses, O? The warl'ly race may riches chase, An' riches still may fly them, O; An' though at last they catch them fast, Their hearts can ne'er enjoy them, O. But gi'e me a canny hour at e'en, My arms about my dearie, O, An' warl'ly cares an' warl'ly men May a' gae tapsalteerie, O! For you sae douce, ye sneer at this, Ye're nought but senseless asses, O; The wisest man the warl' e'er saw, He dearly loved the lasses, O. Auld Nature swears the lovely dears Her noblest work she classes, O; Her 'prentice han' she tried on man, An' then she made the lasses, O.

As I dreamed out last evening by a river of discontent I bumped right into old Tom Paine As a-running down the road he went He said I can’t stop right now my son King Georgy’s after me He’ll have a rope around my throat and hang me on the liberty tree And I will dance to Tom Paine’s bones I will dance to Tom Paine’s bones I’ll dance in the oldest boots I own To the rhythm of Tom Paine’s bones (rpt) He said I just wrote about freedom and justice for everyone Ever since the very first word I spoke I’ve been looking down the barrel of a gun Well they say I preached revolution but let me say in my defence All I did wherever I went was to talk a lot of Common Sense Well old Tom Paine he ran so fast he left me standing still And there I was a piece of paper in my hand Standing at the top of the hill And it read "this is the Age of Reason these are the Rights of Man Kick off religion & monarchy" it was written there in Tom Paine’s plan Poor old Tom Paine there he lies Nobody Laughs and nobody cries Where he’s gone or how he fares Nobody knows and nobody cares

about

Clear Again has been a long time in the making due mostly to our own ineptitude and a misspent youth rather than knuckling down and finishing the dam thing. So here it is and we are dead pleased with it. Thanks to everyone who helped and encouraged us and to our friends who allowed us to interpret their songs.
